Niels Laupert was born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany in 1975. He studied Directing and Producing at the University of Television & Film Munich (HFF MÜNCHEN). Niels has worked on numerous commercials, music videos and corporate films. His feature debut SEVEN DAYS SUNDAY ( 2007) premiered at the ROTTERDAM FILMFESTIVAL (European Premiere) and TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL (U.S. Premiere)  and was awarded with the Mentor Award at the MUNICH INTERNATIONAL FILMFESTIVAL. His 2nd feature film WHATEVER HAPPENS had its theatrical release in 2017 by UNIVERSUM FILM (LEONINE) starring Fahri Yardim and Sylvia Hoeks, a tells the a love drama that starts with the end of the relationship. 

Together with Benjamin Grosch he is running the boutique development and production company JUMPSEAT which was founded in 2013. 

Currently Niels is working as the creator of the series project IMMUNITY that is developed together with REAL FILM BERLIN, STAMPEDE VENTURES and CBS STUDIO INTERNATIONAL
